Acer palmatum ‘Kurui jishi’
Japanese Maple - Confused/Crazy Lion
A dwarf Japanese Maple with small leaves that feature long lobes that are curled inwards creating a very unique star shape look. Green spring and summer leaves turn yellow and orange in the fall. Grows 3′ high by 2′ wide in a 10 year period. Compared to the similar ‘Okushimo’, this is slower growing in size and tends to have smaller leaves.

Parentage unknown. Originated from Japan.
Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light.
Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
