A weeping Japanese Maple with red new spring growth maturing slowly to bronzy-red by summer with red edges. In the fall, the leaves turn a vivid crimson. The leaf lobes are unique being spread apart like spokes of a wheel. Stake to desired height.

Parentage unknown. Introduced by Elliot Groves of New Zealand.

Special Notes

Exposure: Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light. Protected from the hot mid-day sun.

Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.

Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.

Group: Dissectum
