Japanese Maple - Snipe Rising from a Winter Swamp
This is the green form of ‘Aka shigitatsu sawa’ which is the red form and shouldn’t be confused. Creamy yellow-white spring foliage emerges with a network of green veins. The yellow-white fades to more of a creamy-green by summer while the veins continue to darken green. The foliage transitions to reds and oranges in the fall. Grows 5′ high by 4′ wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Parentage unknown. Listed in Japan since the early 18th century.
Special Notes
Exposure: Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light. Protected from the hot mid-day sun.
Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
