NATIVAR – A weeping Eastern White Pine with a more dense and slower growing habit than ‘Pendula’. Long, blue-green needles on drooping branches. Grows ~ 6′ per 10 years but needs staking to gain height.

Origin

Originated as a witch's broom on Pinus strobus 'Pendula'. Found by Mike and Ken Yeager of Hickory Hollow Nursery, New York in 1998.

Special Notes

Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light.

Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils. Intolerant to salt.

Maintenance: Candling is done to new spring shoots before the needles fully emerge.
